You can now download drivers for Mako Technologies' line of Infineer
smart card readers by selecting your reader model from the list below.
We recommend that you print this page of instructions before you begin.
1. To download drivers, select the reader model that you would like
to install from the list below and download the zip file. Save all of
the "unzipped" files to a folder that is easy to locate. Do
not attach or insert your reader until you have downloaded and saved
the drivers.
2. If your computer operating system is Windows 2000 or XP, please
proceed to step #3. If your operating system is Windows NT4, ME, 98
or 95 and if you have never installed a smart card reader on your computer
you must install the "Microsoft Base Components" prior to
installing the reader driver. Download the "Base Components"
zip file by selecting that option from the list below. Two .exe files
are contained in the zip file - scbase.exe and smclib.exe. Save these
files to an easy to locate folder. During the process of the Base Component
installation your system must be re-booted twice. First, install the
Base Components by running scbase.exe and you will be prompted to re-boot
your system. Next, install smclib.exe and you will be prompted to re-boot
your system again.
3. Attach or insert your reader. Depending on your operating system,
the new device may automatically be identified and a dialogue box may
appear (plug and play). If this is the case, direct the system (browse)
to the folder where you saved the drivers in step #1 and complete the
install.
4. If the device is not recognized by the system after attaching or
inserting the reader then you must locate the new device in your "Device
Manager" and manually install the driver. This will complete your
installation
